My name is Luca Collantine, but I go under the guise of LucaLeeDesign. With a BA (hons) Graphic Design degree from the Northern School of Art: I am a graphic designer who likes to explore all elements of design. I’ve worked within many different areas, but I specialise in branding and identity design, and motion graphics. I’ve also gained some commercial experience in marketing materials and layout.

My portfolio includes both personal projects and branding commissions for local companies, as well as a breadth of university briefs such as two years work for the D&AD New Blood Awards. One of my most notable passion projects include some work with a small group of artists, developing a magazine, called ‘The Common People’ - focusing on social change and political issues.

I just completed my three years of study, but over that time, I have also been working freelance, including commissions from independent Northern based artists like ‘North Arcana’ and ‘Crash & Bairn’, developing brand identities. I also have a background in theatre and acting, which is represented in work I did with the University on branding and marketing material for a student production of Simon Stephen’s ‘Rage’.

I also gained some work experience during my study, working alongside Art Director and Graphic Artist Jimmy Turrell for a commission, creating a giant mural, for BBC Radio 1’s ‘Big Weekend’.

One of my most notable projects: I pitched a brand identity, alongside accompanied promotional material, to Hartlepool & Borough Council for a recent exhibition they put on at the Hartlepool Art Gallery. I pitched alongside many other artists, and was selected to be the one to continue on and work with Hartlepool artist Narbi Price. My branding and supporting marketing material, and layout design for an exhibition catalogue, were used at the Hartlepool Art Gallery’s latest ‘Century’ exhibition.

Most importantly, I wish to work with local businesses and independant artists to create design they love.
